Latin America
Whatever you picture when you think of Latin America, there’s so much more than you can imagine.
There’s the landscapes that defy description. Hiking above the clouds on the ancient trails of Machu Picchu. Gazing awe-struck at the primeval majesty of Patagonian mountains. The end-of-the-Earth feeling of standing at Tierra del Fuego, dwarfed by the size and might of its glaciers, knowing that there’s nothing before you but ice that doesn’t recede until the northern coast of Quebec.
There’s also wildlife in abundance and diversity beyond compare. Stepping carefully through Costa Rican jungles so resplendent with creatures that every minute seems to deliver a new animal straight to you. Or walking in Darwin’s footsteps amidst the Giant Tortoises, endless birds and actual dragons.
But what about the people? The incredible, vibrant, diverse, warm people. The deep Mayan history of Guatemala, with ruins the last bastions of rich traditions and a lost culture. The tango halls, steakhouses and magnificent Malbec of Argentina gives local flavour by the tonne. Or the clamour of Carnival in Mexico, where vibrancy is dialled up to 11 and everyone’s considered a local.
Which side of Latin America will you experience next?
