Frequently Asked Questions
What is VetSetters?
We’re a world first – a wholly independent, vet-owned-and-run travel agency that works exclusively for the veterinary profession.
Born from our twin passions of travel & veterinary, we create incredible travel experiences for vets across the world. That’s why we call ourselves the veterinary travel people!
How does planning my holiday with you work?
It all starts with a chat. It’s so important that we understand exactly what you’re looking for in your holiday, so we’ll begin by asking you some questions to make sure we can see what’s in your mind’s eye.
Then we’ll do the heavy lifting – the research, the price checking, the flight routing/timing configurations, haggling with suppliers through to dotting all the Is and crossing the Ts.
We’ll prepare you a bespoke web page where your entire holiday will live. There you’ll be able to find your full itinerary along with detailed information about your destination, accommodation and any activities we’ve planned for you. You’ll find the full cost of your holiday here too.
With our new app – your holiday is wherever you are! View your itinerary, your documents or restaurant suggestions for this evening – all from anywhere in the world on your phone!
Do you charge fees?
No – our costs are covered by our suppliers, so you as the client don’t have to pay anything to use us.
Is my holiday protected?
In short, yes. Your money is held in a protected, secure trust account and is backed by ATOL-protection. If your holiday falls under the rare circumstances where ATOL protection doesn’t apply, we’ll talk you through what that means and how best to secure your trip.
How far in advance should I book?
Holiday prices are dynamically affected by availability. So, the rule of thumb is as soon as you can! As availability falls, prices go up; so the notion of ‘last minute deals’ is a misnomer.
What happens if there are issues when I’m travelling?
Your first port of call should always be the tour operator’s emergency phone number, which will be given to you when you book (and will be on your holiday documents).
We’ll also be on the other end of a WhatsApp message or phone call to help as much as possible!
What if I need to cancel?
You’ll be subject to the terms and conditions of the supplier used for your trip, so cancellation conditions will vary. We’ll set these out clearly before you book, though – so no surprises! We strongly recommend having travel insurance in place, too.
